“Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever.” Psalm 107:1 (HCSB)
The acronym GOAT is usually used for the “greatest of all time,” but I’ll save that for another post. I am drawn to change it for a moment to mean “greatest of all thanks!” This season of Thanksgiving is especially important. With the darkness all around us so thick, gross and heavy we are not meant to be consumed by it. It is vital we daily take time to be intentionally thankful. Let your thanksgiving be weighty! During this week, in the buildup to Thanksgiving, every morning before breakfast, speak out ten things that you are thankful for. These could be the fact you have air in your lungs, blood pumping through your veins and strength to stand. You can consider specific relationships, or that God has put you exactly where you need to be at this point in history! Actually, the possible things to be thankful for is without limit! You can use the same ten things every day, or add to your list. Carry this thankfulness throughout your day! May your life be a fragrance of thanksgiving!
So, give thanks to the LORD simply because He is good, He is absolutely good, all the time!!!
