I know it is Christmas Day, and I should be writing up a nice warm fuzzy post to lift our spirits on this beautiful day. After all we are celebrating the birth of our Savior, our Lord and our King! And the battle has been won!!! But I also realize that our greatest gift to Him is not to take our eyes off of what He came to do, namely to destroy the works of the devil!
The devil does not take a day off. He does not sleep and he does not take breaks or holidays. He relentlessly pursues his goal of killing, stealing and destroying all that God loves (John 10:10). So, whatever you do today, please remember you are at war against an adversary who aggressively seeks to deceive, defile and destroy you and your family. Stay alert, sober minded and ready to resist the devil today (1 Peter 5;8-9).
Ask the Holy Spirit to fill and overflow in you His presence, so that you carry it everywhere you go today. Be ready to resist the devil wherever he may come against you. As a soldier of the Lord, seek to please your commanding officer, Jesus (2 Timothy 2:4), in all you do throughout this day! May His presence in you be tangible and atmosphere altering. May your life shout Happy Birthday Jesus, as you attentively and actively walk with Him this day!
