Then tears streamed down Jesus’ face.” John 11:35 (TPT)

Recently I had a dream where I was with the Father in a vehicle and He was weeping. Many think that Jesus wept at Lazarus’ tomb because He was caught up in the grief and emotions of everyone else. But He knew what was about to happen. He knew that Lazarus was about to walk out of the stinky dark tomb. He knew that a miracle, a resurrection from death to life has about to happen. Yet He wept. I believe His emotion had more to do with their unbelief and doubt than it did His simply identifying with their emotion.

And Jesus knows what He is about to do right now! Many talk about God laughing at the nations who rage against Him (Psalm 2:1-4), yet what is about to happen doesn’t make God laugh. He does not delight in judgment of the wicked, nor even the discipline of His kids. Sadly, doubt and disbelief are still happening in the church, or former church goers. So many people have “left” the church, or their faith over this past year. And many others still remain unrepentant, choosing to reject Him and His good ways. Yet God has been patient with them (2 Peter 3:9). But that time will come to an end and His discipline upon them will be released. A father does not take delight in disciplining his child. It is true, “this will hurt me more than it hurts you!” That’s why He says “mercy” triumphs over judgment (James 2:13, Habakkuk 3:2)! But something is about to happen! Where the enemy has come to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10), cry out for God’s mercy to prevail! Where His kids have succumbed to doubt and disbelief that the veil of deception would be torn from them so they can see His glorious beauty once again! A great outpouring is about to come, and many will reject it. Some will allow their hearts to grow even darker and harder, while many others will turn back to Him. Ask God to stir those you know and awaken them. Pray for repentance across our land. Cry out for God’s grace abound and His mercy to triumph over our nation, your city, your church, your family and your life!
