This was the true light that enlightens every person by His coming into the world.” John 1:9 (ISV)

When the world was formless and void. God spoke. When darkness covered the deep and the Holy Spirit hovered. God spoke. He said, “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3)! Or more literally, “Light be!”

And light was! Immediately the darkness was separated from the light at 186,000 miles a second. Darkness could not stop the light then, and it hasn’t been able to since! When we walk into a room we turn on a light switch. We don’t turn on a dark switch, because darkness doesn’t cause light to flee. Nope! Light always dispels darkness.

When Jesus came to this earth as a man, He was known as the Light! Even then the darkness could not comprehend Him (John 1:5). This word comprehend means to take eagerly, to seize, possess, apprehend, attain, to lay hold of, to take possession of, and to make one’s own. Darkness cannot effective light, ever!

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the LORD will arise upon you, and His glory will be seen upon you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.” Isaiah 60:1-3 (ESV)

These are the days we live in. Darkness looms. It is thick and gross, but light is coming. And this light will increase upon God’s people to the point that the thick darkness is shattered and those who were held in shackles by it will come running to “our” light!

In this hour of darkness and evil, within the world, in our government and so much of the church, God’s glory is coming. Our world is about to change.

Cry out for this light to permeate throughout every fiber of our nation, state, city and church, exposing everything trying to hide in the darkness. Cry out for light to flood the polling booths as the midterm elections are happening, that every place of fraud would be exposed and clearly seen by all. Pray that every secret sin and darkness behind deceitful politicians would be exposed and if it is criminal they be removed and prosecuted. Pray for the millions upon millions of people in our nation who are about to be flooded with God’s glory and light, that they would choose to shake their shackles off and run toward it. Pray for your church to get ready for the light and glory that is coming! Thank the Lord that He is about to once again say, “Light be!” and darkness, even thick darkness, will flee at the speed of light!
