“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His faithful love endures forever.” Psalm 136:1 (NLT)

Isaac Newton’s third law of motion says that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. To put that in spiritual terms, the degree that the enemy has played his hand is to the degree that the Lord is about to move in our nation and across the globe! God has given us a free will to choose or reject Him. The good thing about it, He has promised to never abandon, forsake or reject. Evil does not win, in fact it is overcome by good! In his excellent book, Persevere in Power, Samuel Rodriguez aptly states that “for every threat, attempt or snare made by the enemy, God will not only provide a way forward, He will bless you for trusting Him and persevering.” Paul likewise wrote that God causes all things, that means everything, to work together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Joseph told his brothers, what you meant for evil, God turned into good and saved many (Genesis 50:20). God is not the author of evil, nor is there any trace of evil within Him! God does not cause bad things to teach us lessons. God is not pouring out judgment on our nation or the world to get our attention. It is His kindness, His goodness, that leads us to repentance (Romans 2:4), not His judgment!

The bottom line is, “God is essentially, absolutely and consummately good” (Vines). By essentially, God is primarily, practically, fundamentally and inherently good. By absolutely, God is without limit or restriction in His goodness. And by consummately God’s goodness is complete, perfect, highest and most extreme. You get that? God’s love is extreme! And as such, evil will not, nor cannot overcome it. And, again, to the degree that the enemy has displayed his evil, God is about to display His goodness! Praise God!

Proclaim that God is essentially, absolutely and consummately good, and will completely overcome evil. Ask Him to grant you faith to believe and pray into His goodness being unleashed on your life, your family, your church and our city. Ask God to flood over your pastor with His goodness, and to wash away any doubt, fear and/or critical negative perspective he might have. Ask that those around you would see the goodness of the Lord in your words and life! Thank the LORD for His goodness, and proclaim His love enduring forever over you!
