“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 (NIV)

There is a lot of weariness going around right now. And it is not just coincidence or accidental. It says in Daniel 7:25 that the enemy’s strategy is to “wear out” the saints (ESV). Other translations say “wear down” (NASB) or “oppress” (NIV). I see it and hear about it all over the place. So many pastors (some say up to 50%) would leave the ministry if they could. According to Paul, becoming weary seems to be a choice. We must keep our eyes, affections and efforts fixed on Jesus. As praying people, don’t grow weary in praying (which is doing good) for you will reap a harvest if you don’t give up! We are on the verge of birthing something of God’s purposes in our generation, but the enemy would have us give up before the baby comes. This baby will change the world, forever! Please keep praying and don’t give up!!!

Here are some ways to keep praying this month and beyond….

UGA/Athens Prayer Walk
Saturday, April 2 – 10am to noon
Starts at the Arch

Once again, we are hitting the pavement at UGA (and downtown Athens) as we prayerfully walk the paths, preparing the way for what God is about to do! Whether it is wet, dry hot or cold, we cry out for God’s kingdom to come and His will to be done here! We meet at the Arch and go from there. Please join us for a great morning with other faith filled followers of Jesus.

Intercessors Huddle
Monday, April 11 / 6:30 to 8:30pm
Phoenix Community (worship area) – 660 W Broad St., Athens 30601

We are changing the name from Intercessors Community to Intercessors Huddle, and meeting a at new location and a slightly earlier time. This is an opportunity for intercessors from around Athens to converge, to hear what God has been saying to each of us, and get a sense of where we are heading as we press through this hour!

Pastors Prayer
Wednesday, April 13 / 9 to 10am
Athens Church – 10 Huntington Rd., Athens 30606

This is an opportunity for senior pastors to come together to pray and encourage each other. Pastors are not exempt from the weariness that is plaguing us right now. Please pray for your pastor to make this a priority to unite with other pastors in our city. Together we are better, and can stand in this hour of darkness! Ask God to show them how to prepare for revival and reformation in our city. Ask God to empower them to lead well, and for each church to be an instrument of life. Pray that God would protect, even expand the kingdom unity among pastors in our city.

Groups Pastors Prayer
Wednesday, April 20 / 9:30 to 10:30am
Grace Fellowship – 1120 Malcom Bridge Rd., Bogart, 30622

This is our monthly opportunity for those who lead Groups and Discipleship Ministries in the Athens area. We come together to share and pray with and for each other. Please join us in praying for those who lead Groups and Discipleship Ministries across Athens, starting with the ones in your church. Groups will be playing an increasingly important role in discipling our city!

Executive Pastors Prayer
Thursday, April 21 / 9 to 10am
New Covenant Worship Center – 1425 Newton Bridge Rd., Athens 30607

This is our monthly opportunity for those who “run” churches in Athens to come together to share and pray with and for each other. These mighty yet often hidden warriors make huge decisions in a climate they have never been before. The nature of their role is one that their job list is never finished. Please pray for them, starting with those who fill this role at your church.

Altar of Fire
Thursday, April 21 / 7 to 9pm-ish
Phoenix Community (worship area) – 660 W Broad St., Athens 30601

This is an opportunity to come meet with God, who is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29). The context is surrender as we lay ourselves on His altar, becoming the fuel and asking Him to be the fire. We will also be praying for the upcoming Night of Glory! Please join us if you are at all able!
