“‘Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.” Philippians 2:14-15 (NLT)

In darkness, light shines even brighter. In death, life stands out. In wickedness, righteousness is clearly distinctive. With a backdrop of deep gross darkness, God’s glory is blindingly clear! Today children of God should stand out. This is not the time to blend in, to look like the world. This is the time we should be separated, to be different. This is the time our lives ought to declare we are citizens of another world. This is a time, instead of complaining, and fretting, we are to press into God in prayer, worship and following Him as He leads like never before!

Here are some ways to join us in the corporate setting as we press into God together, in Athens and beyond….

AHOP Leadership Community
Sunday, February 12 / 4 to 5:30pm
AHOP Center – 660 W Broad St., Athens 30601

We consider this the most important gathering we have at AHOP. It is a time when all those who lead worship or play/sing on the team, those who are a part of the prayer leadership team, those who make our gatherings possible by operating the tech, and those who want to expand AHOP’s presence through social media, to come together to build community, to shape the model and to worship with one voice. As we expand into more worship sessions each week we need to stay together as a leadership community. If this is you, or you’d like to be more involved, please join us!

The Mix Prayer Watch
February 24-25 / Friday 6 to 10pm and Saturday 9am to 10pm
Athens Church (The Gallery) – 10 Huntington Road, Athens 30606

Each year thousands of youth from several student ministries across Athens and beyond come together to focus on Jesus at a gathering called The Mix. At this point we are around 20 churches involved! The purpose of TheMix is to provide a context for churched kids to invite their unchurched friends to come meet Jesus and get plugged in! APN provides a prayer covering for this gathering. Please join us during any of the hours we are open (see above). There will be worship going, prayer assistants to pray with you or help in any way needed, a prayer guide and even posters hung up around the room with every students’ name written on them to focus our prayers for those at TheMix2023!

Athens Daily Prayer Texts and Declarations
Ongoing
All across Athens area
To receive… text @athenspray to 81010.

Daily Prayer Texts are a simple yet powerful way to join with others in focusing prayer across our city. We have added a daily declaration to take the prayer text to the next level. These are delivered to cell phones across Athens and beyond every day at 8am (ET) for text and 8:15am for declaration. They are also posted each day at noon on the APN Facebook page. This is an awesome way to stand in unified focused prayer with others from across our city, for our city, every day!

COMING…

Night of Glory
Sunday, March 26 / 6 to 8:30pm (prayer starts at 5pm)
TBD

At this point our plan is to continue our Nights of Glory in 2023. These are incredible opportunities to join other passionate lovers of Jesus in prolonged worship and prayer. Multiple churches and ministries across our city make this citywide gathering possible! Please mark your calendar, talk it up with your family and friends, and come ready to seek the Lord together!!! If your church is not yet involved please stir it up!

MORE & UP TO DATE STUFF…
We daily post on the APN Facebook page. Most the time it is more than once. These posts include prayer opportunities, prayer points, prayer inspirations, the Daily Prayer Text and updates at AHOP. It is definitely worth checking daily to help stay connected with what God is doing and to see how other people are praying in our city! If you are not on Facebook (or if we ever get kicked of), I encourage you to catch the (almost) daily post on the APN Blog.
