“Then Moses said, ‘Now show me Your glory.” Exodus 33:18 (NIV)

What’s crazy about this verse is, Moses had already spent time in God’s glory. From the fiery pillar by night and the smoke by day, Moses had witnessed God’s glory. By the flaming bush that wasn’t consumed, Moses had been up close in God’s glory. In fact, Moses had recently spent 40 days and nights up on the mountain in God’s glory. And it was previously said that “The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as a friend speaks with a friend” (Exodus 33:11). So, what was Moses wanting that he hadn’t already experienced? I believe it was simply more of it! He had been ruined in God’s presence. Like David crying out that the one thing he sought was to dwell in God’s presence all the days of his life (Psalm 27:4). I believe we are stepping into this day. We have had a few tastes of God’s presence and glory, be we desire more. In fact, God is looking for people who want more of Him, and He is going to grant that request!

We are sensing this is the month of glory. Throughout July we are going to be focusing on His glory at our various gatherings, culminating on July 31 at the Night of Glory. Please join us this month crying out with Moses, “Show us Your glory!” Take time through July to marinade, saturate, and soak in the various “glory” passages. Prepare yourself and our city for the Night of Glory!

Here are some ways to join us in a corporate setting to cry out for God to show us His glory this month and beyond….

UGA/Athens Prayer Walk
First Saturday, July 2 / 10am to noon
Starts at the Arch

We are hitting the pavement at UGA (and downtown Athens) as we prayerfully walk the paths, preparing the way for what God is about to do, and crying out for His glory! Whether it is wet, dry hot or not, we cry out for God’s kingdom to come and His will to be done here! We meet at the Arch and go from there. Please join us for a great morning with other faith filled lovers of Jesus.

Join us if you’re able and please be praying for your pastors and congregation to catch the fire of the Holy Spirit, to prepare for the revival that is breaking forth right here in our city and for His glory to cover our city as the waters cover the earth! Pray specifically, that your pastor would be able to join us if he isn’t already a part of this vital and strategic prayer time together!

The Classic Center (Olympia/Parthenon rooms) – 300 N Thomas St., Athens 30601

This will be the third, quarterly Sunday evening worship gathering this year. At least a half dozen churches are coming together to gaze on the glory of God and invite the Holy Spirit to come move among us and in our city! Our key passages are Habakkuk 2:14 and 2 Corinthians 3:18. This time marinating in Hebrews 1:3 – Jesus is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being! Worship and prayer starts at 5pm sharp, with doors opening at 5:45pm for the 6pm corporate start. Everyone is welcome to join us! And please mark your calendar with the remaining date for the Night of Glory in 2022 – October 30.
