| “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.” Isaiah 60:1 (NIV) This is the same passage that I highlighted last month. That is because it is our focus for August through October. This month we will be specifically marinating in “shine, for your light has come.” Please join in meditating upon Light passages throughout this month. Every week at AHOP we will be gazing at a different “light” passage. Here are some ways to join us in the corporate setting crying out to God to shine forth His presence and power in Athens and beyond…. UGA/Athens Prayer Walk First Saturday, September 2 / 10am to noon Starts at the Arch College students are back in Athens. These first few weeks of the semester are huge for students finding their footing, and their communities. It is the best time for them to plug into a campus ministry and local church. As such, this prayer walk is so timely! We will be walking the paths, crying out for the Holy Spirit to move upon these students, teachers, coaches and administration. Whether it is wet, dry or simply just hot (as we’ve had so much this summer), we will cry out for God’s kingdom to come and His will to be done here! We meet at the Arch and go from there. Please join us for a great morning with other lovers of Jesus. Children are most welcome! Contending for Revival @ The 501 Exchange Thursday, September 8 / 10:30 to 11:30am-ish The 501 Exchange – 1051 Baxter St., Athens 30605 Though we normally meet at The Light, this one time we will be having Contending for Revival at the headquarters for The 501 Exchange. They will be having their grand opening celebration later that day, but we want to bring pastors, intercessors and other interested folks to come dedicate this building to the Lord. The 501 Exchange is all about freedom and worship, and is connected with FRVR FREE. This building on Baxter Street is significant! Please join us if you’re able! AHOP Interest Gathering Monday, September 12 / 6 to 8pm AHOP Center – 660 W Broad St., Athens 30601 Now that AHOP is into a rhythm of weekly gatherings, it will soon be time to begin expanding with more churches, worship leaders and prayer leaders facilitating new slots during the week. This is our second of a monthly onramp to AHOP. We will be using this slot to share the vision, values and model that make up this House of Prayer. If you want to be a part of expanding AHOP, this gathering is for you. ONGOING & INSPIRATIONAL… Contending for Revival Prayer Thursdays / 10:30 to 11:30am The Light – 174 Henderson Ext., Athens 30605 Senior Pastors from around Athens are invited to join us every week to contend in prayer together for revival in our city, state and nation. The second, fourth and fifth Thursdays are open for all pastors, key leaders in churches and intercessors to join us as well. Every week is amazing, filled with intensity and a strong sense of God’s presence and leading. Join us if you’re able and please keep praying for your pastor and congregation to catch the fire of the Holy Spirit, and to prepare for the revival that is breaking forth right here, right now, in our city! Athens House of Prayer Thursdays / 6 to 8pm AHOP Center – 660 W Broad St., Athens 30601 AHOP is every Thursday night, and hopefully soon will be expanding to other hours of the week! Mark your calendars and join us every Thursday, as you’re able. Make it part of your rhythm! Please be praying with us as our goal is to ultimately see a non-stop intercessory worship covering over our city. At least a half dozen churches come together to gaze on the glory of God, to worship intensely and to invite the Holy Spirit to move among us however He wants! Our key passages are Habakkuk 2:14 and 2 Corinthians 3:18, Hebrews 1:3. Prayer starts at 5pm sharp, with doors opening at 5:45pm for the 6pm corporate start.
