“You are good; and what You do is good.” Psalm 119:68a (NIV)
God is not the author of evil! He is the same today, yesterday and forever. He is always, absolutely good. He is not the cause of your pain. He did not purpose or will that cancer in your life. He was not behind that rape. No, God is the giver of good and perfect gifts (James 1:17). God did not bring about your pain to teach you a lesson or to help you grow. Pain, suffering and evil is not His will for you! The Lord came to destroy every work of the devil (1 John 3:8), which included Satan’s agenda to kill steal and destroy (John 10:10).
God made man with a freewill, and our choices have consequences, both for good and evil. God did not cause the train to run over the person laying on the tracks. God did not cause that pregnancy of the teenage girl who choose to be in sexual relationship. God did not desire for that person to die of Covid. Though God causes all things to work together for good (Romans 8:28), He does not cause all things! Sadly, many people blame God for the problems their choices, as well as the choices of others, got them into. Sure, God can and will use these things for good, but please do not blame our absolutely good God for your problems. Many people blame God for their loss and pain from these past few years. Many people blame God for what’s going on in our country right now. But our choices, especially that of the church, have had a detrimental impact on our nation. The church’s compromise, our choosing to be silent, and to look more like our culture than to be counter cultural, has come with a cost. We have an illegal government because we have tolerated sin and compromise at the highest levels, including within the church. We have allowed a lawless spirit to operate unfettered for too long! The enemy has lied and deceived us to believe God is the author of pain, suffering and evil! It’s time to bring truth into the light!
God is good and everything He does is good (Psalm 119:68a) and He has a way to turn what the enemy means for evil into good (Genesis 50:20)! Confess where you have agreed with the devil in blaming God for any of your problems, pain and/or suffering. Proclaim that God is absolutely good, and what He does is absolutely good! Pray that every doctrine of demons about God would be exposed and up rooted from your church. Pray that the goodness of God would be experienced throughout our city and nation. Pray that the enemy would be seen for what he is, a liar, a destroyer, a deceiver, and a murderer. Praise the God of Peace, who will soon put Satan underneath our feet (Romans 16:20)!
