“I in them and You in Me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that You sent Me and loved them even as You loved Me.” John 17:23 (ESV)
It is no wonder that the devil and his wicked cohorts do everything they can to divide, confuse and deceive people. The devil totally understands that unity is a valued commodity in the kingdom of God. Agreement in prayer is way more powerful than individual prayer. Unity releases the commanded blessing of God! The bottom line is, we are absolutely better together. And God has called us to live and minister together, as one.
In our world so many people don’t like the church, but the reality is they haven’t seen the true, Spirit-empowered church yet. So many say they don’t like Christianity, but it’s actually powerless Christianity that they don’t like! And so many today say they don’t like Jesus, but they haven’t been introduced to the real Jesus yet. But all that is changing!
Please pray for a new grace of unity in our city! Pray that every wall and hindrance would be torn down and that one church would rise up so that the world would know that Jesus is real and is who He said He was! Pray that labels from the past would be washed off the church in Athens as we walk together in a new place of kingdom unity and power! Pray for pastors (starting with your own) to connect and reconnect with other pastors across our city. Pray that our churches would be more connected and partner together doing the things on His heart, in this very hour of history. Pray that a citywide, unified house of prayer would be established in Athens! And pray for the Holy Spirit to empower Jesus’ body to look more like Him and do what He did when He walked on this earth!
