So Peter was kept in prison, but prayer was being made earnestly to God for him by the church.” Acts 12:5 (HCSB)

James the brother of John had just been put to death and Herod saw how much it pleased the Jewish leaders. Now he planned to do the same to Peter who was being held in a prison cell, guarded by Roman soldiers. “But the Church was earnestly praying!” Ultimately, God miraculously freed Peter through angelic intervention. It was so bizarre that Peter literally thought it was a vision. This is a clear incident where the spiritual realm impacted the physical realm! But next thing Peter knew he was outside of the prison complex! Everything had changed.

Today we are once again in a life-threatening situation that can only be rescued by God. I believe as the Church prays, we will see angelic intervention. What is impossible is for man, is not for God, and He is already moving, but the Church needs to earnestly pray. The Host of Heaven are in position. Soon after Peter’s angelic rescue mission, the very one who had ordered James death, and had Peter on death row, was put to death by an angel! We are told that an angel of the Lord touched him and he was eaten by worms and died (Acts 12:23), but the word of God continued to spread AND increase!

The word “earnestly” means fervently, intensely, and some translations even include constant and/or continual. We are in a time when the Church needs to obey the command to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). If we do, we will see God’s deliverance. Already around the world there is continual prayer going on, as incense arises before the throne of grace, day and night! Please join in. This is a serious call for all believers to step up in earnest prayer! This is a day of separation, those who pray and those who don’t! If your church isn’t praying more right now, when we on the verge of World War Three, please urge your pastor to do so. Start a prayer group in your church, and if that isn’t possible, go join another group from a church that is praying!  Whatever you do, pray earnestly! More than you have ever before. Your life, your family, your church, our city and nation depend on it. And while you are at it, get ready for an angelic invasion!
