“My love calls to me: ‘Arise My darling. Come away My beautiful one.’” Song 2:10 (HCSB)

Jesus said His sheep, those are truly His, will listen to Him and follow Him, because He knows and absolutely loves them (John 10:27). One thing that sets the Bride apart from the others, is her relentless seeking of the One her soul loves (Song 3:1-4). Though there are times she may be weary and tired, and even lag behind, she will ultimately choose to go after Him.  She gets up out of her place of comfort, out of the security of the known, out of the bondage of religion, out to meet with Him, to go where He goes and join what He’s doing! She may even get beat up and bruised in her searching for her lover (Song 5:6-7).

Are you listening for His voice? Do you hear Him calling you out from your hidden place? He calls you darling, which is an affectionate form of address to a beloved person! He calls you beautiful, which may not be how you see yourself! His desire is that you come away with Him, and it starts with arising, that is, getting up and moving toward Him, toward the sound of His voice! He promises you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13-14a). He promises He will reward you for diligently seeking Him (Hebrews 11:6). He is the reward!

Ask Him to arouse desire within you to seek Him until you find Him. We’re told not to arouse love until it so desires (Song 2:7b), so ask Him for that desire! Ask Him for a grace to hear Him with greater clarity and to respond to Him with much greater speed. Ask Him to wash off of you the lies and names the world and the devil have labeled you with. Ask Him to speak His names over you! Ask Him for courage to “come away” with Him wherever He leads, whenever He calls! Pray that God would awaken such lovers of Jesus across our city!
