“But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the despicable, the murderers, the perverts, the sorcerers, the idolaters, and all deceivers, they will find their place in the lake of fire and sulfur, which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8 (TPT)

Jesus has some strong words about cowards. By definition, a coward is a person who lacks courage in facing danger, difficulty, opposition, pain, etc.; a person who is easily intimidated or timid or fearful. Right now, in the furnace of trial, many people are preferring to remain quiet, and not speaking up, even when they know that evil will prevail if good people remain quiet. This is a day, where history will remember those patriots who stood up and willingly laid it all on the line for their nation, as well as those who didn’t.

Politicians are being silent out of fear for personal loss, or because of threats to their families! In a day they should be patriots, fighting for justice and holiness. State legislators are considering their future more than the country and constitution they swore to protect.

Those who drafted and signed the Declaration of Independence knew the potential cost of doing so, and gladly did it for the sake of the nation they foresaw. Check out the closing words…

‘For the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.’

These patriots willingly laid it all down, for something so much bigger than themselves. Today we are in a fight for our independence, our freedom and the future of our nation. This is not the time to be quiet, to remain hidden till the storm passes, to be a coward. This is the hour fight, to rise up as patriots, as the remnant bridal church of Jesus Christ.

Cry out for God to stir up the “spirit of Zerubbabel” in His Church (Haggai 1:14).

Beseech God to give His children in our government, the strength and courage to do what they are in office for. Who knows, perhaps they have come into their positions of authority for such a time as this. Ask God to give them the grace to say regarding their future, their wealth or whatever, “If I perish, I perish!” (Esther 4:12-14&16).

Pray for those around President Trump to see themselves as patriots, and to protect him from the lies and attacks swirling around him. Ask God to expose every traitor/coward in Trump’s inner circle, and have them removed immediately.

Pray for pastors to have courage to preach the full gospel, as the inerrant, God breathed word. Pray that they would not be afraid to speak about the issues at hand, but instead to stir their congregations up with truth and instructions on how to pray for our nation as such a time as this!

Pray for congregations around Athens to be stirred with courage to fight the good fight, to finish the course and to keep the faith (2 Timothy 4:7). Pray that God would release a relentless courageous spirit in you!
