Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” Galatians 6:7 (NIV)

Robin Bullock often speaks of SEED – PLANT – HARVEST. This is God’s LAW. Paul called it reaping what you sow. The thing is, there is a gap of time between the seed and the actual harvest. And it really does matter what seeds we are planting with our lives. Every seed matters! Paul bluntly says that God will not be mocked! Those hidden, secret sins that we think are harmless, will still produce a harvest! Though these may include lust, pornography and/or an affair, they can also be unforgiveness, hypocrisy, lies, anxiety, fear, need for control, pride, selfishness, etc. Do not be deceived (something else Paul said in this context) that just because it seems we are getting away with it for the time being, it will be made known, not just in eternity, but in this life. Elsewhere Paul says that whatever is sown in the darkness will come into the light (Ephesians 4:12-14).

Let’s pray fervently for the good harvest! Please cry out for God to show you the hidden, secret sins that lay dormant in your heart. You may have even forgotten about them. Invite the Holy Spirit to thoroughly search your heart and reveal (that is, bring to the light) any and every offensive thing (sin) hiding there (Psalm 139:23-24). Ask Him for the courage to confess any and everything He reveals. Cry out this same way for your pastor and church leaders. If it is there it needs to be exposed NOW! Yes, it may (will) get messy, but the mess now is nothing compared to the harvest it will bring later! Pray that God would expose sin across our city, both inside and outside the church, and for Him to release a deep level of the fear of God over our city!!!
