“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits….” Matthew 7:15-16a (ESV)
Wolves in sheepskin is not a myth! Yes, they are real and they are well disguised!!! Though we are not to walk around suspicious of everyone, we do need spiritual discernment. Man judges on what he sees, but a wolf in disguise simply looks like a lamb. Don’t be naive, not everything is as it appears. Jesus says look at the fruit. And btw, good, Godly fruit only grows on branches that are connected to the vine (John 15:4)! Look for the fruit of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
Ask God to give you discernment, and/or the gift of distinguishing of spirits (1 Corinthians 12:10). Ask Him to train you, your pastor and your church how to test the spirits (1 John 4:1). We are in an hour where we must see beyond the devil’s disguise of coming as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). Ask God to expose every wolf in your church who is portraying themselves as sheep. Ask God to make your church a safe haven for all sheep, and an unsafe place for everything else!
