“For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.” Matthew 24:24 (ESV)
Awhile back I had a silly dream where my nose was congested. I did everything I could to clear it out, from picking it with my finger, to ramming tissue up in it and blowing it really hard. I finally got it cleared out and woke up! As I pondered this, I sensed the Lord remind me not to despise the mundane and seemingly insignificant. He reminded me to tug on the threads of heaven and discover what treasures from God are connected to them! Well, as I asked Him what this dream meant I was struck with the nose representing discernment and our need in this hour for increased and clear discernment! Wow! Our noses allow us to smell fragrance, as well as stench. Our noses can warn us of danger from smoke, pollution and toxins in the air, as well as a tasty meal being prepared in another room. Our noses also allow us to taste, to enjoy the good things and reject the, well, not so good things!
Then later that morning I was leading Contending for Revival and was wondering if I should share this dream and get us to pray into it. As a confirmation, the Lord caused the tip of my nose to begin tingling. It was very tangible and unavoidable!
Jesus prophesied that if it is possible, even the very elect will be deceived. You catch that, even the elect! Without discernment we are susceptible to deception! That same week I was meeting and praying with a pastor in Athens and he expressed that one of his greatest needs in this day is discernment!!!
Pray for discernment to see the deception. But you won’t be able to see it if you are drinking the nectar of the antichrist. That is, if you are watching movies that display sex, violence and mocking of God, you have grown desensitized to what God feels. If you listen to music contrary to God’s moral word, if you take in news that simply spews the globalists narrative, you will not see the deception. The discernment needed today requires us to be set apart!
Ask the Lord to teach you how to take captive every thought and make it obedient to Him (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). Ask Him to reveal every stronghold that is operating in your mind that hinders the discernment you need (2 Corinthians 10:6). Ask Him to gird you in truth, and show you any place deception is lingering around you (Ephesians 6:14). Ask Him what you need to do to clean out your nose and operate in a higher level of discernment. Pray this for your pastor, as he greatly needs this to navigate your congregation forward in the days ahead. Pray for a grace for discernment to be released over those who seek the Lord with all their hearts. Thank Him that He has not left us helpless and unequipped for the battle that is raging right now for the soul of our nation, for our city, for our children!!!
