“Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. He called together his servants and entrusted his money to them while he was gone.” Matthew 25:14 (NLT)
You can have as much of the Lord as you want. Really! You just need to be willing to give up things that are important to you! You have to lose something in order to gain so much more! David danced 38 miles in one day, and he lost his clothes in the process, but he brought the ark, the physical symbol of God’s presence into his town. You have to be willing to give up things to chase after Jesus! Are you willing to lose things precious to you to have more of Him?
Whether you believe it or not, you have been entrusted with much. And what you have been entrusted with comes with an expectation. What have you been entrusted with? And what are you doing with it? If you want more you must steward what you got. We are to trade our talents, our gifts, our time, our money to advance our Master’s vision. The Master’s vision was to give them more responsibility (rule over more) and to release them into His joy (Matthew 25:21)! We determine the level of that more. The level of joy is determined by our faithfulness! Are you walking in the more? If not, perhaps you’re burying what you’ve been given!
Btw, we are judged according to what we do with what we believe. The servant who buried what had been given him saw the Master as stingy and hard. And the Master judged him according to his own belief (Matthew 25:25-28). There is no joy for those who bury what God has given them! God has a vision for you and you will be blessed according to what you do with it.
Ask God to break every faulty belief you have about Him! If necessary, repent for believing He is stingy and hard. Ask Him for the grace to be able to take EVERYTHING He has given you and invest it for His vision and purpose. Ask Him to help you “dust off” things you have put on the shelf. Thank Him for the more that is coming your way, more talents, more anointing, more kingdom responsibility and more joy! Ask Him to make your life attractive and contagious as a generous investor of His vision! Ask Him to release that grace in your church as well! Cry out for the Holy Spirit’s presence to increase as people use everything that God has given them. May the Lord raise up His Church in Athens that operates in His more and faithfully advances His vision for our city!!!
