Who among you fears the LORD, listening to the voice of His Servant? Who among you walks in darkness, and has no light? Let him trust in the name of Yahweh; let him lean on his God.” Isaiah 50:10 (HCSB)

This is an hour where we need to stay hidden in our Lord. John 15, Ephesians 6 and Psalm 91 are key passages to pray, declare over your life right now. Stay under the shadow of the Almighty and rest in His abiding presence! The darkness is thick, and gross (Isaiah 60:2), and breakthrough seems to have been delayed. Nevertheless, in humility, draw nearer to God than ever before (James 4:6-10) and He will lift you up!

The temptation today is to build our own walls, to do things our own way. So many have become their own protectors, but ask them how it’s going. When Jesus is your rock, your shield, your fortress, your protector, and the fire that is coming is a good, even beautiful thing. Jesus said that His sheep will hear His voice, that is they will listen to Him. They will trust Him because He knows them and they will follow and obey Him wherever and however He leads (John 10:27). Jesus knows where you need to be standing in this hour as the fire falls. Please follow Him to that place!

There is a fire coming that will both refine and destroy. It will be beautiful and terrible. Some will run from it, while others jump into it! We have kept the fire of God contained for so long that we have come to think of it as “tame fire!” We have learned how to light our own fires, but the warning against that is quite strong.

But watch out, you who live in your own light and warm yourselves by your own fires. This is the reward you will receive from me: You will soon fall down in great torment.” Isaiah 50:11 (NLT)

The fire that is coming is outside the box, the container that we have tried to keep it in. Many will call it evil. Even those in the church who have grown comfortable with s’mores by their campfire on Sunday mornings will be terrified by what our living God is about to do in our churches and in the world (Hebrews 10:31).

Angels are called ministers of fire (Hebrews 1:7). Tongues of fire accompanied the Holy Spirit at Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4). John the Baptizer said that Jesus would baptize with the Holy Spirit and fire (Matthew 3:11)! Btw, according to the Hebrew calendar, Pentecost is approaching quickly, like it starts next Tuesday, June 11 at sunset. It concludes at nightfall on Thursday, June 14. There is a bit of prophetic chatter about its significance!

Thank the Lord for the coming fire. Tell Him you will go wherever He leads and you will trust Him in this hour of darkness. Repent for any fires that you have started in your own strength. Repent for every place you have tried to keep Him, the Holy Spirit, contained! Invite Him to be your only light in this time of deep darkness that is covering the earth. Ask Him to prepare you for the Holy Spirit being poured out, with fiery angelic activity. Ask Him for eyes to see Him and what He is doing. Tell Him that you will embrace and welcome His fire, however it comes! Thank Him for ordaining you to be here, alive, right now, to be a part of what He is about to do!!!
