Faltering!

“Elijah went before the people and said, ‘How long will you waver between two options? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal is God, follow Him.’ But the people said nothing.” 1 Kings 18:21 (NIV)

How long will you falter between two opinions? What a piercing question! Elijah challenged the compromising people, who were leaning toward the baby sacrificing god Baal, this revealing question. But the people remained silent, and would not make a verbal commitment. Though they may not have totally agreed, they silently went along with the idolatrous baby killing. They did not want to speak up against the evil government of their day, and as such, quietly conformed to the mandates heaped upon them. Sounds familiar!

Many years earlier Joshua challenged the people of Israel, “choose for yourselves whom you will serve,” as he declared as for him and his home they will serve God (Joshua 24:15)! You see, as true Christ Followers, we do not have the luxury of faltering between two options anymore. God is looking for those whose hearts are completely His (2 Chronicles 16:9).

Right now you must decide whom you will stand with! This is an hour of confrontation between God and the devil, good and evil, if you remain quiet you will go down in the dark of night. But if will you rise up, speak up, and say no to this tyranny, not only will you survive this hour but you will be a part of God’s remnant army. Choose today that you will not falter between the two options! Purpose in your heart to stand!

Cry out for the body of Christ to awaken, to arise, and to stand up against tyranny in this hour! Cry out for your church to not simply be quietly faltering between two options, but loudly standing with God and His word in this dark hour. Cry out for your pastor to have wisdom and courage to lead your congregation as a people of light, even if it is costly. Thank the Lord, for He is not done with our nation!!!
