“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.” Matthew 6:33 NLT
There is a broad call for people to change their savings, even retirement into gold and silver because of the fear that the dollar is going to crash! There is a push for everyone to store up food because the supply chain has been broken and we’re heading into a famine. We are told that we must prepare for a global crash, that even darker days are coming and that everything is going to get harder.
What is the right thing to do? Should you cash out for gold? Should you purchase three months, even a year’s supply of food? Should you brace yourself for what is coming? Believe me, I have been asking these questions and praying very seriously into them! And where I landed is, keep my eyes on Jesus and follow Him where He leads! The Lord does not want us reacting out of fear. We are told that the only thing that matters is faith expressing itself through love (Galatians 5:6b). The Lord tells us to trust Him and don’t lean on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). If you run out and get gold and purchase food because you are afraid, you have missed the opportunity to trust Jesus. On the other hand, He may lead you to do just that! We are living in the midst of the greatest opportunity to trust Him! Likewise, if you simply reject the warnings and don’t do anything, and just simply blaze forward saying “God’s got this” you may miss what He is saying to you about it. Don’t presume that you know what you’re supposed to do without seeking the Lord first. We have never been this way before (Joshua 3:4). Jesus told us that we are to seek God and His kingdom first and above all else, and then everything else will fall into line (Matthew 6:33)! Seek Him for what you are to do in light of all these warnings, and whatever He says, do, even if no one else is doing it!
