“For every one of God’s promises is ‘Yes’ in Him. Therefore, the ‘Amen’ is also spoken through Him by us for God’s glory.” 2 Corinthians 1:20 (HCSB)
I was asked recently if I had any dreams, vision and/or words that have yet to be fulfilled in my life. As I sat with the Lord a couple of them came to my mind. They had been forgotten! I realized just how easy it is to render active words and promises to the bookcases of our soul and never see them fulfilled. You see, promises and prophecies often require us to pray them into reality. We must pray about God’s promises, not just hear and then forgot them!
Jeremiah tells us that the Lord is watching and waiting to fulfill His Word, which includes His words, promises and prophecies (1:12). Isaiah tells us that God actually wants us to pester Him, reminding Him of what He has promised (62:6-7).
As we wind down 2023, take some time and ask God if there are any promises and/or prophetic words that He has given you, but have been shelved and forgotten over time. As the Lord begins showing you these promised treasures, ask Him for the faith to pick them up once again. Repent if there was any negligence on your part. Ask Him for faith to believe, to receive and then pray until the answer comes, for His glory!
