“Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8 (NLT)

In American football the term passing interference refers to when a player on the opposite team “interferes” with the person who is attempting to catch the ball. That interference can come in the form of holding or pushing the player. Often such calls are game changers. I realize when I titled this post “foreign interference” what probably went through your mind was what happened in our recent election. But what is more sinister is the daily interference in our lives and nation by the one called the devil. He comes to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10), not just change the outcome of an election. He is called the Father of lies and a murderer from the beginning (John 8:44). His desire is to devour you and all of God’s good plans and purposes for our life and nation.

As such we need to “play the game” with wisdom. We must understand what our enemy’s schemes and strategies are (2 Corinthians 2:11, Ephesians 6:11) without studying his secrets (Revelation 2:24) or learning the doctrines of demons (1 Timothy 4:1) which we are told to avoid. The Apostle Paul tells us to stand firm against the devil by putting on the armor of God (Ephesians 6). He tells us elsewhere that we are to live as warriors not simply civilians who go about life unconcerned that there is a war going on (2 Timothy 2:3-4).

Ask God to grant you a divine warrior discernment. Cry out for God to expose the schemes of the devil against you, your family, your church and our city! Ask God to throw the yellow penalty flag, and grant us the grace to take the yardage that has been stolen from us, our families, our churches and our nation! Ask God to deal with every form of “foreign interference” whether spiritual or physical! Pray that every plan against the Church and our nation will be turned into good, and God get the glory from the devil’s attempts to kill, steal and destroy!
