“But God remembered Noah…” Genesis 8:1 (NIV)

From this passage it almost sounds like God released the flood and then forgot all about Noah and the animals on the ark and the world He had created. Ha! That is not the case. And there is a reason God remembered Noah! Check out these words about Noah.

“Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD” (Genesis 6:8). That passage goes on and says that “Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time and he walked with God” (v.9). Please recall that the people of his time had become so wicked that their hearts were only inclined to do evil all the time (v.5).

If you want God to remember you, align with Him, and not the culture. Allow your life to preach the Gospel loudly. God remembered Noah because He chose to walk alone with God. For decades Noah obediently built a boat for a coming flood among a people who had no frame of reference to understand what he was saying or doing and undoubtedly, he faced daily ridicule and persecution because of it. His life of obedience preached a strong message of condemnation against the people of his time (Hebrews 11:7)! St. Francis of Assisi said, “Preach the Gospel always and when necessary use words!” God has not forgotten you, us or our nation! But His eyes are looking for ones whom He can trust in the hour!

Ask God to give you a faith like Noah’s, to be a person who has found the favor of God and walks blamelessly among your community. Cry out for God to allow your life to be a sermon the world hears and is drawn to Him. Ask God to release His dove, the Holy Spirit, to lead you through this season, to the bountiful land we will soon be in! Ask God to bless your pastor with a courageous Noah-like faith to nurture and lead the “wild animals” in the Ark called your local church. Thank Him for remembering you!
