“For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest.” Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 (NLT)
Sin is sin. I know that is profound, but if you don’t deal with it, guess what? It brings forth death (James 1:14-15). We are in harvest time. One of God’s laws that we cannot ignore is seed, time, harvest. Paul used the terminology reaping and sowing. He literally warned us not to be deceived by the fact there is a delay between what we plant and its harvest. He said, “Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.” (Galatians 6:7). This is an hour of harvest! What has been sown over the past five decades is coming forth. Even what we have sown over the past two years is bearing fruit. And this principle is for both good godly seed as well as evil, fleshly seed!
Those who have pressed into God will be bearing godly fruit. Even churches are being impacted by this. Where there has been compromise on the platform, such as letting people lead worship or as a musician, who have unrepentant sin in their life, there is harvest. God is holy and when we put people on the stage because of their gifts or our relationship with them, without consideration of the condition of their hearts, we have planted unholy, fleshly, perhaps even demonic seeds in the church! Sadly, I have seen churches do this, ignoring heart issues because they wanted the voice. And now it’s harvest time! Likewise, churches that have responded to the pandemic out of fear are now bearing the harvest. While those who operated out of faith are being blessed!
If we have taught “milk” instead of “meat,” guess what? You have baby Christians at best! If our platforms have been more concerned about happy people than holy followers of Jesus, those happy people are confused about issues like abortion, gender, wokeness, CRT, BLM and sexual purity! If our platforms have not taught about the issues of socialism, communism, Marxism, globalism and borders, guess what? You have a people who feel entitled without understanding the consequences. On the other hand, if your platform has focused on letting the Word speak, instead of candy-coating it out of fear of offending, your congregation will stand strong in this hour of harvest. They are ready to reach the world and pay the price it is going to cost for it. Those on their milk diet, well, they will need their diapers changed!
Parents, what you sow into your children matters. If you model and sow a lazy lukewarm faith, your children will multiply that seed. Whereas, if you have intentionally planted fiery faith seeds by modeling a life of holy passion for Jesus, that is what will grow in their life. You can’t plant weed seeds and expect wheat!
Thank the Lord for this law of seed, plant, harvest! Thank Him for the harvest that is coming, yay, that is here right now, because of the godly seeds that have been sown in our city and nation. Pray for the workers of the harvest to rise up and be ready for the floodgates of heaven to be opened. Ask the Lord to prepare you, your family, your church for the harvest! Thank Him for allowing you to be alive at such a time as this!!!
