“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 (NIV)
We can rely on him to be constant! He has not changed. Satan is the father of lies, a murderer. His language is deception and hate! He wants to kill you, steal from you and destroy you! That’s what he does! And tragically, he is actually really good at it. He is an accuser and divider! He hides, pretends and corrupts. And though he masquerades as an angel of light, he is not your friend! He will use you, abuse you, then dispose of you. And this culture is characterized by his lies, deception, delusion, masks, mirrors and smoke screens! Satan’s handiwork is consistent!
But at the same time, neither has God changed! James tells us that God do not change, that He is not like a shifting shadow (1:17). He is never late. No, He is always on time. He never lies, nor will He ever leave you! He never deceives or leads you astray. In fact, He will never tempt you (James 1:13). He is the same today, yesterday and tomorrow! He is good, faithful, kind and holy! He is love and He is just! He exposes and sets free the captives. He desires you to live a life full and abundant. And He is not just good about what He does, He is absolutely good in everything He is and does!
Please pray for our nation, as we walk through this dark time where deception is out of control. Pray for those you know who do not know Jesus yet, to have their eyes opened to see the one they are trusting in actually hates them. Pray that they would have eyes to see the true One who loves them so much that He died for them. Pray for these family member and friends by name. Pray for your church to look more and more like God than the world or Satan.
