“He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.” Psalm 103:3 (NLT)
Recently I wrote about not forgetting the benefits of Christ’s death. I said it is usually easier to believe God for our salvation yet still struggle to believe for our healing. In fact, it is often easier to believe for someone else’s healing than our own! But both healing and salvation are promised through the cross!
A week ago, as we were having a clean-up day in our neighborhood, I was assigned the entry to our estate. I was pulling by out invasives (such as privet), removing dead branches and chopping up logs with a chainsaw. As I pulled a log out of the little stream I smashed my left hand really hard. Pain shot all the way to my elbow with my wrist throbbing, and my little finger curled up. I proclaimed the benefits of Jesus’ wounds, and declared healing over my finger. Instantly 99% of the pain vanished. Literally, it was gone completely!!! I was able to work several hours more!
Nevertheless, throughout the week, multiple times, I had to battle for this healing. Strangely, the pain would periodically come back and words in my head saying the healing wasn’t real. I would proclaim that I am healed and the promises in the Word are real, AND once again the pain would leave! Here I am a bit more than a week from the incident and I am healed, yes, still healed!
Thank the Lord for the benefits of Christ’s death. His sacrificial offering on the cross paid for our salvation AND our healing! The enemy doesn’t want us to step into the abundant life that Jesus promised in John 10:10. The enemy simply wants us to suffer. He comes to kill, steal and destroy. Therefore, stand on His Word that you are saved and healed (Isaiah 53:4-6, 1 Peter 2:24).
Today, remember His benefits (Psalm 103:2). Thank the Lord for your salvation AND your healing. If there is anything specific you need healing for, ask Him, and then stand on it. Resist the enemy’s lies and he will ultimately flee from you (James 4:7). But resisting is not just a one-time thing. You must stand your ground until he flees! Pray for others you know who need healing. Stand on the word and promise for them! Cry out for a new level faith for healing to arise in your church and for a wave of healing to crash upon our city!
