“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” John 10:27 (ESV)

Some hear His voice as a thunder which shakes the whole earth (Psalm 29). Others hear Him as a loud voice speaking to a crowd. Still others hear Him as in an intimate conversation with someone very close. These spend time each day with Him to hear His voice and to grow deeper in Him. And still others, those who press in even more, hear His very heart beat (like John leaning on Jesus’ chest). What do you hear?

Do you hear noise that shakes and brings fear to all who hear? Is your relationship with Jesus at an arms distance away? Or do you come into His presence on Sunday’s listening as one in a crowd, hearing His voice through others? Or even better, do you seek one on one time with Him during the week, to hear His voice and commune with Him? Or do you live in His presence, gazing at His loveliness, yearning for more of Him and feeling His very heart? Are you one whom He searches the world over for whose heart is fully His (2 Chronicles 16:9)? Are you one whom His heart is ravished by when you gaze upon Him (Song of Songs 4:9)? To those who hear His heart beat, even His whisper is like a shout!

This is the hour to choose how close you are going to be to Jesus. We are told to draw near to Him and He will draw near to us (James 4:8). We are as close to Him as we chose to be! Cry out to Him right now! Tell Him what sort of intimacy, closeness that you desire with Him. Tell Him that He is the one thing you seek and desire (Psalm 27:4). Tell Him you desire to be single focused like a dove, upon Him, to live in constant awareness of His presence, and to dwell in His house now and forever!
