“Simon Peter replied, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’” Matthew 16:16 (ESV)
When asked who he said Jesus was, Peter declared “You are the Christ!” Then Jesus proclaimed who he was, saying “You are Peter, the rock” (Matthew 16:18)! We cannot step into our destiny without first grabbing hold of our identity! It was when Peter identified who Christ was that he found his own identity. If the enemy can twist and pervert our identity, he can steal our destiny! Btw, the whole gender thing is about identity!
While who we say and believe God is, is the most important thing about each of us, what we say, believe about ourselves is a second! It is vital that you know who you are and who’s you are. Press into who God is and you will have greater clarity as to who you are. We’re told that “as a man thinks so he is” (Proverbs 23:7 KJV)! What you think and believe really matters, so dig into it!
God is my Father, Awesome, Creator, Eternal, Judge, Infinite, Lover, Ruler, King, Savior, Sovereign, Wise, Kind, Compassionate, Faithful, Friend, Holy, Intimate, Worthy, Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent … and absolutely Good (just to name a few things about my wonderful and glorious God)! There is no one or thing even in the same league, even by a long shot. God stand alone, yet transcendent and intimate!
