You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32 (HCSB)

When it comes to truth, our opinion does not matter! Something isn’t true because we believe it. It is true, well, because it is true. I can believe someone who says just head down this road and I will get to my desired location, even if the map says otherwise, and then totally get lost because I believed a lie. I can be sincere and wrong! Our opinion does not change the fact something is not true. I can believe nice things about our government, but that doesn’t mean it is true. In our day of relativism, when everything is measured by what someone thinks about something, it is easy for the church to follow suit. There are many church goers who believe many things that are simply not true. But this is the hour to stand for truth, not our opinion of truth!

Ask the Lord to show you places where truth and your opinion collide. Ask Him to show you any strongholds, that is, arguments that set themselves up against the knowledge of God (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). And ask Him for a grace to turn from your opinions to truth! Ask Him to do this with your pastor, church leadership and congregation. Ask God to divide between truth and opinion in the Church across our city!
