“Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” Galatians 5:25 (NIV)
We have been crying out for God to release His power. There is a sense now that He is saying, “Go for it!” We have been waiting for Him, yet could it be that He is waiting for us to step up into a new level of faith? Our faith is not meant to be a passive, simply waiting for God to move type of thing. God calls us to partnership with Him. Yes, prayer is a primary means for moving heaven to earth, but faith is our means of joining Him in what He is doing. It is called obedience. It is what Jesus meant when He said My sheep hear My voice, I know them and they follow Me (John 10:17). It is time to believe that the same power that rose Christ from the dead (Ephesians 1:18-21) is in us! It is time to believe that Jesus said we would not just do what He did, but we would do even greater things (John 14:12). It is time to take hold of the truth that we are no longer slaves to the law of sin and death, but have been set free through Christ into the law of the Spirit of life (Romans 8:2). In other words, do accept the report from the world, from the doctor, from the government. Death has no hold on you! Your life is in Christ, who descended to hell to take hold of the keys of death (Revelation 1:18). All your days have been written in a book in heaven (Psalm 139:16). And unless you forfeit them, nothing can steal them from you!
Ask God to release a new boldness to “do” what He has told you to do! Ask Him to stir you to walk in a manner that allows the Holy Spirit to operate in power through you! Instead of simply asking God to move, ask Him where and how He wants you to move! Repent of any report that you have been believing that is contrary to the will of God. Pray for your pastor to be gripped by the reality of God waiting for us to take hold of His power within us! Pray that the atmosphere over your congregation would shift toward faith and what God says is possible, instead of what man deems as impossible! Pray that a new wave of faith would sweep across our city and nation! Pray that Jesus’ body would truly get in step with His Spirit!!!
