“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9b (NLT)

God is not asking for more of you, He simply wants all of you! He is not looking for you to try harder, to work harder or to do more “for Him!” What He is looking for are hearts that are totally His (2 Chronicles 16:9). He is looking for lovers not workers. He is looking for friends not servants (John 15:15). He is looking for ones who will take the time to listen to Him and follow Him wherever He leads (John 10:27).

Please hear this, He is not looking for more out of you, whether that is more hours volunteering, or more money in the offering. No, He wants you to operate from a place of first love, a simple devotion and a sincere faith. He desires you to walk in your assignment as He leads you. More is not better! In fact, more can get you out of the lane He wants you to walk in. More can become a work of the flesh. And more can and does lead to burnout, discouragement and disappointment. Too many of us are too busy because we wrongly believe more is better! God can’t wait to bless those who love Him wholeheartedly. Indeed, He will tell those who have faithfully obeyed what He has commanded, “Well done good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:23)! Nevertheless, Jesus said, if you love Me you will obey Me (John 14:15). The key then is loving Jesus with all your heart, and then obeying Him as He leads you (Matthew 22:37). It is not about doing more, but spending more time at His feet as Mary did (Luke 10:41-42), listening and then responding as He leads!

In this season it is vital that we take more time and sit at Jesus’ feet, listening to what He has to say, and loving on Him like a Bride to her Groom. In this season it is vital for you to not be busy with many things, but with the things He has given you to do. So, take time at His feet today, repent if you have gotten busy with “lesser” things. Ask Him to rekindle your first love for Him (Revelation 2:5). Ask Him for clarity about your assignment in this hour. Ask Him to show you things you are doing that He has not asked you to do, and the courage to discard them. Ask Him to reveal ways for you to love Him as a Bride loves her Groom. Tell Him that you desire to be His friend and His lover, not just His servant. Thank Him that He has placed you right where you are in this season, and will meet you there!!!
