Not conspiracy!

“Do not call conspiracy everything this people call conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it” Isaiah 8:12 (NIV)

As crazy as it may sound, in a day when you can travel around the world, and visualize the spheres in space, there is still a group called the Flat Earth Society! They believe, well, that the earth is flat though round like a disc, not like globe! Apparently, there are over 200,000 members on Facebook! There are actually Flat Earth conferences around the world, with hundreds of people attending each year. They accuse NASA of lying to us! And many flat earthers do not believe in gravity! They are passionate, and genuine. To most people they are nut cases! Just being passionate and sincere about something doesn’t mean it is true or you’re right! They do not trust science! From them a huge conspiracy is going on! Sadly, anyone who denies climate change, or is an anti-vaxxer gets looped into the same category as a flat earther and are called a conspiracy theorist, and a nut case! Even in our day, following Jesus to some is about as crazy as being a flat earther!

While Satan comes to kill steal and destroy (John 10:10), he also comes as an accuser (Revelation 12:10), a liar (John 8:44), a deceiver (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), a sifter (Luke 22:31), a harasser (2 Corinthians 12:7), a schemer (2 Corinthians 2:11, Ephesians 6:11) and a hinderer (1 Thessalonians 2:18). He is a master distracter! Anything to get our attention off of God and obeying Him. What Satan creates is stupid and distracting, it is a cheap counterfeit. And yet, people are buying it! He’ll do whatever he can to keep people from following and loving Jesus. As long as he can keep people from the real thing, he doesn’t care what they believe. In fact, Satan doesn’t actually seek worshipers, he just wants people not to worship God. No wonder Satanists are adamant that they don’t actually worship Satan. They worship “self” and the idea of Satan is simply a means to that!

There are things that the world has called conspiracy that have turned out to be very true! This is especially so lately!

Ask God for courage to believe, stand and speak out about Him, even if others around you think you’re a nut case. Ask God to show you any and every place where you have been timid because of being looped into the conspiracy theorist category. Ask God for friends who will stand with you in this hour. Pray for your pastor to not be afraid of preaching the full gospel, or things that may not be popular in our world (such as life, sexuality, borders, our bodies, righteous government, etc.). Pray that the church in our city would not be distracted by the enemy’s ploys any longer!
