“They all lived their lives on earth as those who belonged to another realm.” Hebrews 11:13b (TPT)
We live in a world that we were not created for. I know, sounds like The Matrix! The world that God created had no veil between heaven and earth, between the spiritual and the physical, between God and man. That world was “good” before Adam succumbed to temptation and corrupted it through his sin. But through Christ’s death we now have dominion and are vessels to bring heaven to this broken world!
Today as followers of Jesus Christ, we have authority to bring heaven to earth. Jesus instructed us to do that in our praying, “as it is in heaven, let it be on earth” (Matthew 6:10). Our faith releases the supernatural, which was all very natural in the garden of Eden. Our faith-filled obedience releases miracles and changes the atmosphere. We are heaven carriers, and we literally bring God’s kingdom, His presence and all that this entails into this broken world. Peter urged us “as aliens and strangers in this world to abstain from sinful desires” (1 Peter 2:11). Our holy lives, filled with the Holy Spirit, brings God’s holy presence into this fallen world.
Today proclaim that though you are in this world, you are not of it. As a born-again follower of Jesus Christ, you have been become a conduit for heaven to touch, fill and transform this world. You are a vehicle of His glory, and a vessel of His presence. Ask God to move in your life in such a way that heaven and earth kiss. Ask God to use you to restore the “world” as it originally was in the garden. Ask Him to do in you whatever it takes to be His instrument of heaven to those around you. Ask God to begin exposing where the “world” and its fleshly desires have crept into your church. Ask Him to release a deep longing for heaven on earth among those in your church leadership and congregation. May God restore a longing for heaven in your church and the churches across our city!
