However, I say to you, love your enemy, bless the one who curses you, do something wonderful for the one who hates you, and respond to the very ones who persecute you by praying for them.” Matthew 5:44 (TPT)

What we believe empowers us. What we speak reinforces what we believe. According to James our words bring life or death, blessing or curse (3:9-10). What we listen to, what we take into our minds, dramatically impacts our thinking, without us even realizing it. There is so much information going on right now, much of it is false and simply the spewing of the false prophet, the lying media. The enemy takes truth and subtly twists it which leads to deception and delusion. It is happening across the board, both right and left sides, at every level. So much of it is stirring anger and hate! As believers, we need to be careful of what we listen to and what we say. We cannot drink in the pool of false news, and be untainted. It is going to impact you! Cry out for discernment, for we cannot rely on what seems right to us!

As followers of Jesus, we are not to speak judgment. That’s God’s job. We are told to speak blessing, even on our enemies. We are to pray for those who are not like us, whether they like us or not. Today, pray for and speak spiritual blessings upon President Trump and Vice President Pence. Upon Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Pray for them. Pray that God would meet them, and reveal Himself to them. Pray God would bring them to their knees in repentance and grant them grace to walk in a way that honors Him. Pray that God would protect them and give them holy wisdom to press forward in this hour. Repent if you have been acting as judge and have not been praying or blessing them.

Take some time today and let these words of Jesus settle into your mind, soul and spirit… “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Matthew 7:1-2 (NIV).

Remember, only God searches out and knows the hearts, minds and motives of people.
