“Let the high praises of God be in their throats and two-edged swords in their hands…” Psalm 149:6 (ESV)
Praying scripture is a powerful resource, a tool, a weapon to use in our daily battle. Today, in light of the darkness looming, the threat of a long deadly winter, here is an example of how to turn Psalm 91 into a powerful prayer of declaration. Remember, the Light wins!!!
In the name of Jesus Christ, I come to You heavenly Father proclaiming I surrender all and choose to abide in You. As Your word says he, that’s me, who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to You Lord, ‘You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’
For You will deliver me from the snare of the fowler, from every trap or entanglement of the enemy, and from the deadly pestilence including every form of Covid and deadly viruses released upon mankind in this hour. You will cover me with Your feathers, and under Your wings I will find refuge; Your faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
I will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand may fall at my side, ten thousand at my right hand, but it will not come near me nor my home.
I will only look with my eyes and see the recompense, reward, the retribution of the wicked. They will reap what they have sown!
Because I have made the Lord my dwelling place— the Most High, my refuge—
no evil shall be allowed to befall me, no plague come near my tent, my home, or my family. For You will command Your angels concerning me to guard me in all my ways.
On their hands they will bear me up and protect me, lest I strike my foot against a stone.
I will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent I will trample underfoot. The God of peace will indeed soon crush every work of the devil underneath my feet.
Because I hold fast to You in love, You will deliver me; because I know Your name You will protect me. When I call to You, You will answer me; You will be with me in this time of trouble; You will rescue and honor me and my family. With long life You will satisfy me and show me Your salvation.
I declare this so! In Jesus’ power, beautiful, amazing and absolutely good name, amen!
