It’s time to rise and stand firm at the place on the wall of Athens!
Thousands of students are arriving at UGA getting ready for first day of classes this Monday. Many of these students are “free”, looking for a good time. They are needing new friends, new places to hang out, new communities to be involved in. Many will be making some bad decisions that will be felt the rest of their lives. On the other hand, many will make great choices. Please be praying these next several weeks especially for these incoming freshmen and transfer students.
- Pray for God to arrange for divine meetings with these incoming students with followers of Christ.
- Pray that these students would make “good friends”.
- Pray that God would block ways to darkness and close doors of temptation, while opening doors to Him!
- Pray that they would be drawn to campus ministries and local churches.
- Pray for students to have boldness to share their faith and to invite “new students” to their campus ministry and local church.
- Pray for the churches across Athens to be ready for the huge wave of first time guests, that their experience would be amazing and that there would be great connections, even decisions for Christ!
- Pray that the Holy Spirit would draw them in and reveal Jesus to them.
- Pray for unity, effectiveness and creativity among the campus ministries.
- Pray that God would prepare the way for the 21 Day Challenge coming up in a few weeks (a unified outreach by most the evangelical campus ministries to pass out some 6,000 Bibles).
- Pray for a movement of God at UGA! That He would rend the heavens and come down (Isaiah 64:1).
Thanks for partnering together to advance God’s Kingdom in Athens (& beyond)!
