“One day Jesus told His disciples a story to show them that they should always pray and never give up… But when the Son of Man returns how many will He find on earth who have faith?”  Luke 18:1&8b (NLT)

Jesus told His Disciples a parable to teach them to always pray and not give up. He tells them about an unjust judge who fears neither man or God, but because a woman, a widow, kept nagging him he succumbs to her request. Then Jesus says how much more will our Heavenly Father answer His “chosen ones” who cry out to Him day and night. Who? That’s us! Doing what? Continually crying out to Him, day and night. No wonder Paul wrote that we are to pray without ceasing (1 Thes. 5:17).
Then Jesus wraps His story with a piercing challenge. Will the Son of Man find faith on earth? He was talking about our need to pray, always, continually and never giving up, then He throws out a statement about when He returns will He find His people walking by faith. The question is directed at us! Our faith is expressed through our prayers. The reality is, a life of limited prayer is proof of a life of little faith! And it’s not just whether we’re praying or not, it is the size of our prayer that reveals the depth of our faith. The size of your prayer reveals the size of your God! What are you asking God for? What does your prayer reveal about YOUR faith? Do you pray little prayers to your little God or big audacious prayers revealing your faith in a great BIG God? We want Jesus to return to find faith on earth, and it all starts with each one of us. So pray, pray big and pray continually, not giving up, so that Jesus will indeed find faith on earth when He returns!
Here are some opportunities to pray big prayers with others this month. Please press into God and do not give up!!!
Note… There will be no Groups Pastors or Executive Pastors Prayer in December. We will reconvene in January!

These are amazing gatherings that provide an awesome opportunity to connect, hear what God is saying to each other and to pray together. Please pray for these strategic citywide prayer leaders (especially the ones you know), asking God to take them deeper and deeper in their own walk with Jesus and that out of this intimate place, lead their prayer ministries forward into the coming harvest! Pray that God would continue to raise up more prayer leaders and more prayer ministries in our city!

Worship plays such a huge part in our prayer and expression of faith. Those who lead worship in our city are in such a visibly influential place. On the first Wednesday of each month worship pastors from around Athens meet up to pray for and with each other and for the worship ministries across our region. Often these worship leaders will bring a song to share that they have recently written. Please join us in praying from wherever you are, asking God to release greater anointing upon the worship leaders in your church and across our city. Ask God for new songs, new intensity, new passion and even miracles in the context of worship in the churches across our city. Ask Him for a greater grace to worship Him in our city!

Pray that unity between student ministries (and student pastors) would continue to gain momentum. Ask for more student leaders to rise up in preparation of the coming harvest! Please be crying out for God to bring everything together for TheMix18 that’s coming up in February. This year we are adding a much more intense prayer covering, expecting this to be the best one yet! See below for more details.

These are always pretty amazing times of prayer!!! You are most welcome to join us as we walk, talk and pray for revival at UGA, across Athens, and beyond.
Pastors Prayer
Wednesday, December 13 / 9 to 10am
Living Hope (House of Prayer) – 2150 Lexington Road, Athens GA 30605
Senior Pastors carry a tremendous spiritual load. This monthly gathering on the second Wednesday is for Senior Pastors from around Athens to meet up to encourage and pray for and with each other. God continues to give us an amazing and unique grace for unity in Athens. Please pray that God would protect the unity that He is already established and that it would continue to deepen and grow wider. Be praying that your pastor would be able to be a part of it. Also pray that more intercessors would rise up to pray for the pastors across our city. Continue to pray for an increase in the intensity of prayer for your pastor. Pray that God would meet with them to refresh and renew them. Pray that God would show them if/where they have drifted away from their first love. Pray for their protection in the battle. Pray for their marriages and their families. Ask God to give them strength, encouragement and stamina. Ask God to give them wisdom and revelation that they would know Him better (Ephesians 1:17) and that they would lead and minister from that place of intimacy with Jesus. And ask God for a greater measure of joy, peace, rest and faith to be released over them and their ministry!

Prayer for the Middle East
Wednesday, December 13 / noon to 1pm
Living Hope (House of Prayer) – 2150 Lexington Road, Athens 30605

Everyone is welcome to join us as we pray for Israel and the conflict in the Middle East. Please pray for the Kingdom of God to advance in Israel and across the Middle East!

Christmas Services
Sunday, December 24 and 25
Across the city

Christmas is one of a few times in the year those who may not normally go to church would be willing to if they are invited. So pray that followers of Christ across our city would be praying for those they are to invite, and then be bold to actually do it! Pray that there would be a grace over the invitees and that they would respond affirmatively and come to the services. Pray that worship leaders, preachers and others would prepare well. And pray that the services across Athens would be filled to capacity with both man and God! Pray that this year, there would be hundreds, even thousands surrendering to Christ in the various services in Athens over Christmas!
