“He disarmed the rulers and authorities and disgraced them publicly; He triumphed over them by Him.” Colossians 2:15 (HCSB)
Jesus made a public spectacle of the entire demonic realm. The devil had thought he had won by having Jesus nailed to the cross. But had he known, he never would have crucified the Lord of glory (1 Corinthians 2:8). On that rugged cross, all that stood against us, and opposed us, was nailed as a certificate declaring our debt, that is ,all our sin, has been forgiven, completely canceled (Colossians 2:13-15). That is very good news! Not only that, but the very one who hates our soul and everything about us, the devil and his hoard of evil beings, has been disarmed, and made a public spectacle of. Jesus triumphed over them all on the cross!
The ramifications of this are tremendous, but of course, the enemy does not want us to realize the victory we have been given! The bible tells us that we are overwhelmingly victorious (Romans 8:37 NLT), or as many translations say “more than conquerors” (NIV, ESV, KJV). For the enemy to get away with his desire to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10) he must use the only technique he knows, that is to lie, deceive and twist truth. He is a defeated foe, but because of being the father of lies (John 8:44), he has duped us to think he has more control over us than he actually does. If he could kill us, he would have long before we gave our life to Jesus. The globalist, anti-Christ agenda is to depopulate the earth to 500 million, and that is not working out has they had planned.
The bottom line is, the enemy has lost, he knows it and is desperately trying to take out as many as he can before he is cast into the lake of fire. We, Jesus’ body, His co-heirs, His bride, have authority over the devil and all his cohorts. When Jesus gave authority to His disciples over ALL the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19), there is no record saying He ever rescinded or took it back. And then, Jesus’ victory on the cross codified our authority, forever! Jesus made it possible for His true church to be the victorious ones over all the schemes of the devil. He said that the very gates of hell will not prevail against us (Matthew 16:18).
So today, no matter what you are facing, remind the devil that he is conquered, that through the cross, He has been utterly defeated, and made a public spectacle. That through the cross all that ever stood against you and/or opposed you has been canceled. You are not a loser, or a victim! Declare today that you are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you! Take the authority Jesus has given you and use it! And remember, Christ’s authority has been entrusted to you, so use it responsibly, to its fullest degree!
