“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 (ESV)
God does not forget the seeds we plant! Though they may have laid dormant for many years, they are not dead! Their day is coming! We will reap what we have sown! God promises that His word WILL NOT RETURN VOID, that is, it will accomplish what He desires in His time (Isaiah 55:11). Jeremiah reveals a God who faithfully watches over His word to fulfill it (1:12). We are no longer sowing for gardens and veggie patches but for orchards and forests. A veggie patch can feed your family, but an orchard will feed our city!
Thank the LORD for the law of seed, plant, harvest! Thank Him for being faithful and bringing forth the fruit of the seeds you have planted in prayer these past years, even decades. Right now, remind Him of the promises He has made to you. Remind Him of the seeds you have sown for His kingdom. Ask Him to grant you even a greater grace to plant more and more seeds for the coming harvest. Ask Him to help you expand from veggie patch praying to orchard praying! Ask Him to raise up a powerful praying church in our city that will impact the nation and nations of the world!
