“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” John 14:6 (ESV)
This morning as I was sitting with the Lord, praying about truth He led me to open my phone and I immediately found an article shared by Franklin Graham. In the article published this weekend, research done by the Barna Group revealed that almost 40% of pastors have stepped off the path of moral truth! They declare that truth is what you say it is. In other words, we determine our own truth! No wonder the sheep are confused. Many of these pastors believe that socialism is better than capitalism! They believe that ‘good’ people will make it to heaven. And shockingly, around 30% evangelical pastors said that salvation is not through confession of their sins and accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior! Wow!!!
Pastors, wake up! You are accountable before God for how you lead your people. You come under a stricter judgment (James 3:1). You are responsible for what God has entrusted you with! Cry out for God to reveal any and every place of compromise and deception that you have wandered into! Cry out for mercy, repent and get back on the narrow road!!!
People, if your church, or more specifically, your pastor has stepped off the path, PLEASE RUN from there as quickly as you can. Get into a church where the pastor is hungry for the Lord, values prayer and spiritual disciplines of seeking Him, as well as equipping the body to do the same. Btw, socialism is evil and does not work. Just look at every nation that has tried it! There is a deception operating that is luring people away from truth! And understand this, this is no other way to heaven but through Jesus Christ (John 14:6, Romans 10:9-10). We are saved by faith through grace. It is not something we earn or are good enough for (Ephesians 2:8-9)!
Pray that every pastor in Athens, who has stepped off the path would be exposed, and drawn back to the narrow way of Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:13-14)! Pray for your pastor to press into God, for a fresh hunger for the Word, and fresh filling of the Holy Spirit!
