“Set up road signs; put up guideposts. Take note of the highway, the road that you take.” Jeremiah 31:21a (NIV)

We only perceive that which we believe in! If you don’t believe in miracles, guess what, you won’t see them, even if they happen right before your eyes! You will simply call it coincidence, or accident, or unexplainable, but you won’t see it as a miracle. Jesus talked about how even He was limited by the faith of those around Him. In some places He could not do many things because of their unbelief (Mark 6:5, Matthew 13:58)!

A sign is meant to point us in the right direction. But obviously they don’t actually help if they aren’t visible. The sign itself is just an indicator we are moving toward our destination. One of my favorite signs is in Eatonton, GA, where as you are traveling back from Florida to Athens it would be the first hint you are heading in precisely the right direction. Every time I see that sign as we are driving home from being with our son Deron and his wife Shelby, in Panama City Florida, I feel we pass a tangible marker saying we are almost home. It is not saying we have arrived home, but it stirs hope that we will soon be there! Signs and wonders do the same. But if you are not looking for them, or believe in them, you won’t see them!

Jesus said that signs and wonders would accompany those who believe (Mark 16:17-18). Jeremiah told us to call out to God and He will show us great and amazing things we do not know of (Jeremiah 33:3).

Ask God to open your eyes to see what He is doing right now, to show you great and unsearchable things! He is pouring out much grace, with signs and wonders for those who are willing to see. Tell Him you are willing to see things you have never seen before. Ask Him to tear back any veils that you have allowed to hinder your sight. Ask Him to release a new level of faith to not just see these signs, but to step into them and for them to accompany you. Pray for your pastor, specifically that every doctrine that has put a limit on the Holy Spirit to be broken off of him. Pray for a willing heart and an eager mind to see the signs that God is revealing right now. Ask God to give your pastor courage to lead your congregation to acknowledge these signs that point to where Christ is leading us! Pray that God would do this across our city and nation!
