“Don’t move an ancient boundary marker that your fathers set up.” Proverbs 22:28 (HCSB)
There is a reason the Bible teaches us not to move the stones our fathers, our ancestors, set up. Yes, we are told not to move the land markers, boundaries or memorials that our forefathers established. Yet, memorial and statues have been torn down in recent years because some were offended by the past they represented. Across our nation many statues and memorials were defaced, knocked down or moved to another location. It happened here in Athens! But those who forget their past are prone to repeat it! And that’s exactly what the devil wants us to do!
Another marker that has been moved, or rather, defiled is the rainbow! It is being moved right before our eyes, and so few are saying anything about it, out of fear. Don’t let the rainbow to be stolen. Shake off the fear, and declare that the rainbow represents the long, established memorial that God established as a sign of His covenant with us! When I see a rainbow I am reminded of God being faithful to all His promises!
Come on, parents, teach your kids the proper boundaries! God set up some pretty clear markers. All the animals somehow know they were created male and female, and it is even written in our DNA!
Praise God for the markers He has provided us and our children. Ask Him to show us how to protect them, even fight for them as they represent the story of our past and point us to His promises of our future. Pray that God would grant you grace to teach your children the past of our nation, that was founded by pioneers fleeing religious persecution to worship God freely in a brave new world. Cry out for God to protect that freedom once again, and to show you how to fight for it in this hour!
