“I searched for a man among them who would repair the wall and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land so that I might not destroy it, but I found no one.” Ezekiel 22:30 (HCSB)

God looked for someone to stand in the gap on behalf of the people, but He could not find anyone. What a tragic statement! And because He couldn’t find anyone to stand in this gap, He had to release judgment. He wanted to release mercy, but it would require someone to stand in the gap, and there was no one!

God always looks for those who will represent Him, to who build the bridge between Him and the people. He looks for intercessors who will pray and not give up, and today there is a strong sense that He is calling us to a new level. This is a transition time! Of course, Jesus became our intercessor, who stands in the gap on our behalf. But Jesus wants us to stand with Him on behalf of ohers.

Will you respond, and say yes to His request? Will you stand in the gap on behalf of our land, of our city, of your church, of your family? Ask Him for the grace to step up as an intercessor. Ask Him for a greater sense of your assignment in this hour, and faith to fulfill it!
