When all the people saw it, they fell facedown and said, ‘Yahweh, He is God! Yahweh, He is God!’” 1 Kings 18:39 (HCSB)

The people were noncommittal to the Lord before the confrontation. They were lukewarm, in danger of being spit out of God’s mouth (Revelation 3:16). Then fire fell from heaven, the prophets of Baal were executed, the evil king was on the run and Jezebel was furious! One man, Elijah, a remnant so to speak, fought the fight and the nation turned back to God!

Cry out for the remnant to not back down, even when it looks impossible! To trust the Lord with all their hearts, not leaning on their own understanding or knowledge (Proverbs 3:5). Pray that God would increase grace to believe, and by faith trust what we cannot see (Hebrews 11:1, John 20:29). Pray that fire would fall on our offering of prayer and worship, that God would move powerfully upon these prayers, that those propping up the evil agenda as well as those spewing it would be removed. Pray that the evil prophets of abortion would be exposed and put out of their positions. Pray that the rest of the church would be awakened in this hour before they are spit out of Jesus’ mouth for their lukewarmness. Ask God to increase His fire in you, to renew first love for Him (Revelation 2:4), and wholehearted faith. Pray for your pastor for full awakening, to lead your church out of any compromise and darkness into His marvelous light! Cry out for fire to fall in Athens, for His light to come, His glory to be seen and for darkness to flee! Declare that all of Athens will confess “Jesus is Lord, Jesus is Lord” and be saved!!!
