The Mix Prayer Watch 2019
Friday, February 22 (11am) to Sunday, February 23 (11pm)
The Classic Center
Thank you so much for being a part of The Mix Prayer Watch 2019. Your prayer is part of a huge thing God is doing in our city. It’s God’s desire to move powerfully in Athens, and this student gathering is both catalytic and important. The prayers you pray matter. We are believing that God is going to do mighty awesome things because of our united fervent, focused, prevailing prayer. As you pray, please pray big audacious prayers of faith for God to do what only He can do!!! There is no limit on what God can or even wants to do. It is beyond our imagination (Ephesians 3:20, Isaiah 55:8-9). No wonder King David wrote, “You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds, O God our Savior!” (Psalm 65:5a NLT). Our primary purpose of The Mix is to provide a relevant and safe context for students across our city to come to a saving relationship with Jesus. As you pray please keep this priority before you. Jesus said…
“It is not My heavenly Father’s will that even one of these little ones should perish.” Matthew 18:14 NLT
Prayer Topics
Students
Pray by name for the students that came from your church that they would have a fresh encounter with God. The names of all the student at The Mix, by churches, have been handwritten on poster boards and will be plastered on the walls in the prayer room. As each student gets prayed for, a line will be drawn through their name with a highlighter pen. By the end of The Watch, each student will have a rainbow drawn through their name, proclaiming God’s faithfulness to them!
Pray for salvation – that not one student would leave here without Christ (1 Timothy 4:12). Pray for the wandering children to come home (Luke 15:11-32). Pray for breakthroughs, for physical, emotional and spiritual healing, and reconciliation of relationships. Pray for new godly relationships to be forged. Pray that the students would be receptive to all that God wants to do in and through them. Pray for divine conversations between them and their leader. Pray for the students from other churches, as well as the students across the city. Ask God to do what only He can do and that every student would leave here different than when they arrived! Pray that the Father’s name would be made holy and that His kingdom would come powerfully and tangibly throughout The Mix. Pray that His will would be done among the thousands of students at The Mix. Feel free to pray scriptures over them. For example, Psalm 119:9, Galatians 5:19-23, Ephesians 1:16-18 (as well as the ones below).
Leaders
Pray for all the leaders that came with your church. Ask that they would be filled with the Holy Spirit. Ask God to give them favor with their students and stamina to keep up with them. Ask God to create specific divine moments of dialog with each student in their care. Ask that God would give them courage to say what they need to say, in a way that the students will listen and hear. Ask God to be working in them, as well as in the students. Ask God to awaken first love in them, faith, hope, joy, purpose and fire in their bellies for His mission. Ask that not one leader who came would leave the same!
Volunteers
There are an army of volunteers who make The Mix possible. From the drivers, to the host homes, to the group leaders, to greeters and door openers, to production team and others. Please pray that God would bless each and every one of them as they serve this weekend. Ask God to pour back into them as they pour out into the students. Pray for protection on the roads and in the homes. Pray for health and stamina. Ask God to close every door where the enemy might try to attack, that where the enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy, God would release life, even super abundant life (John 10:10).
Worship
Pray for Paul Smith and FRVR FREE Worship as they lead worship throughout The Mix. Pray that it would be more than just songs, or intensity or emotional hype. Pray that students would powerfully and tangibly encounter God during the worship sets. Pray that the Kingdom would come and God’s will would be done on earth as it is in heaven while worship is happening.
Speaker
Pray for C.L. ‘Shep’ Shepherd. Ask God to anoint his speaking and breathe over every word that comes out of his mouth. Pray that the students would listen intently, eagerly and be willing to receive and respond as the Lord leads. Pray that God’s Word would not return void but would accomplish all that He desires of it (Isaiah 55:10-11).
The theme that Shep will be speaking on is “Past, Present, Future.” He will be looking at stepping up, out and in. Here are the key verses and small group discussion questions for each session. Please pray into these questions and the discussions that will come.

Churches in Athens
Pray for revival in each church across our city. Start with yours and the ones you know. Then include others from the list of churches (see below). Pray for your pastor to lead well, to grow in passionate love and faith in Jesus, for a hunger of God’s Word. Pray for your pastor to walk in integrity and purity. Pray for the other pastors in our city as well. Pray for the church leadership to have courageous faith, to be willing to try new things, and to mobilize the Body to reach out and disciple people in our city. Pray for unity in and among the churches in Athens. Pray for every wall of division between churches to come down, whether they are racial, gender, denominational, pride, offense or whatever! Pray that God would establish such unity among churches in Athens that He releases the commanded blessing that He promised would accompany it (Psalm 133).
Churches involved in The Mix
Over 30 churches and ministries from Athens (and a few from outside) are involved in The Mix. David wrote in Psalm 133 that it is good when we dwell together in unity, for in that place God commands (bestows and releases) a blessing, even life forevermore. That’s what is happening this weekend. The Mix is not an event, it is an expression of the unity that God has and is establishing in His churches in Athens. As such, we can ask Him to release His blessing upon us. Jesus said that when we are one as He and the Father are one, then the world will see and believe He is who He says He is (John 17:20-23). Please pray that God would command His blessing on these churches and ministries, even life forevermore (that is mass salvations and kingdom growth). Pray that this blessing would overflow and impact even the churches not involved in The Mix this year! Pray that The Mix would be catalytic and change the spiritual atmosphere over our city!!!
