“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 (ESV)
Faith is like high octane rocket fuel in our spiritual life. It can move mountains, heal the sick and release miracles. In fact, faith, the substance of things hoped for (Hebrews 11:1), releases angelic activity (Daniel 10:12) and stirs God to move. Our shield for the spiritual battle is called faith (Ephesians 6:16) and it extinguishes the weapons, curses and fiery darts of the enemy! Whereas, doubt actually hinders angels from fulfilling their assignment of serving and assisting us (Hebrews 1:14). One moment we can pray bold prayers and make powerful declarations, then the next moment we can undermine them by speaking “You know, I am really not that sure!” Our words of doubt actually nullify our faith filled prayers and cause angels to stand idly waiting. From what I understand, angel armies are literally ready to engage in battle in this very hour, and our faith either releases or hinders them.
Our faith is often tested by trials, delays and disappointments! But an untested faith is actually no faith at all. Faith requires action (James 2:26). It’s time to lay aside our disappointments and all our doubt and stand in faith. Don’t believe what the media or the government is telling you. They are lying and deflecting the truth. They are feeding you with misinformation. They want you to fear, to doubt, to surrender to their agenda. Instead, trust, that is, have faith in the Lord and do not lean on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). This is an hour of testing for our faith. Will you stand, or will you bow to the lying narrative you are being fed?
Cry out for God to strengthen your faith, to grant you a grace to stand in this very hour of testing. Ask Him to expose every root of doubt and to pull it out! Tell Him you choose to trust Him with all your heart and not lean on your own understanding, or what your eyes are seeing. Declare that even if you perish you will trust Him (Esther 4:16). Declare with Job that “no plan of Yours can be thwarted” (Job 42:2). Ask Him to take your mustard seed faith and plant a tree of righteous in this generation! Pray for faith to arise in your church, and for your pastor to be renewed in his faith! Pray that true faith would arise in Athens!
