“Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.” Genesis 9:16 (NIV)
The devil is a thief, a defiler and a counterfeiter! He takes God’s beautiful creation and distorts it, perverts and claims it as his own! He is a plagiarist, one who steals another’s idea without giving credit to the true author! The rainbow is just one of these things! And let me just say, the rainbow belongs to God and not the devil! After the flood, God gave Noah the rainbow as a sign of His covenant with humans and the earth, and the promise to never destroy the world with floodwaters again (Genesis 9:15).
The rainbow is seen around the throne of God. No wonder the devil wants to pervert it! Before being cast to earth Lucifer (aka the devil, satan, the father of lies, etc…) was the lead worship angel in God’s presence. He was very aware of the glory of God depicted in the rainbow around His throne (Ezekiel 1:28, Revelation 4:3)!
Ask God to give you eyes to see (discernment) everywhere that the devil has stolen and perverted His beautiful gifts to us! Declare that you will not allow the enemy to rob God of His glory any more. Declare that the rainbow belongs to Him! Every time you see a rainbow, thank God for His covenantal promises to you and think on the beauty, splendor and wonder of His glory!
