“I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!” Mark 9:24b (NLT)

It wasn’t a huge Egyptian army that kept the Israelites from entering the Promised Land! Neither was it the Red Sea! Yet both in human terms were impossible and/or impassable. Even with the miracles that God did to overcome the impassable barrier of water and the well-armed army on chariots that were about to crush them, they still had even bigger barriers to overcome. What kept God’s chosen people from the Promised Land was the barrier of their unbelief!

This past season has really been a blow to many in the church. We are on the verge of a powerful move of God, unlike anything we have ever seen! But so many are simply struggling to believe! There have been so many disappointments and setbacks. Even as Proverbs says, hope deferred makes the heart sick (13:12). So many hopes and dreams have been deferred. To defer means to be postponed, delayed, suspended for a certain time. But as breakthrough is coming, many don’t have the faith to believe for it. Intercessors, we must press in on behalf of the unbelieving church!

Invite God to show you any place where unbelief has taken up residence in your heart. Ask Him to replace it with a new wind of faith. Ask Him to wash your eyes of faith so you can have clear vision of what God is doing and is about to do. Ask Him to do this in your pastor, and release your church from any residue of unbelief. Ask God to ignite a fiery hot passionate faith across our city, to believe and embrace the new thing that God is preparing for us. Ask God to pour out revival and raise up reformers to change the very climate of our city for the kingdom of God. Ask Him what part you are to play in the coming reformation!
