Thank you for taking the time to pray for and invest in our young people of Athens and surrounding area. And thank you Kelsey Parham for crafting this prayer guide! Whether you are in TheMix Prayer Room (see bottom for hours), or you are praying offsite, anywhere in the world, feel free to use this prayer guide to help launch your petitions and intercessions for the students. The theme of TheMix24 is our identity as ones who were wonderfully and creatively made. Key passage is Psalm 139. Take time and marinate in this passage and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you in your prayer.

The Schedule

This prayer guide is primarily scriptures with some topical heading that should focus your prayer. Take the passages, read them out loud if you can, then turn them into prayer. Ask the Holy Spirit to partner with you (Romans 8:26-27).

“I am who I am.” Exodus 3:1-17

God hears the cries of His people. As we begin to cry out for students this weekend, let’s remember the God who hears and responds. Think about how God has revealed Himself most powerfully or clearly to you recently. Pray each student encounters and more deeply knows God in that way.

God can right every wrong, deliver every captive, and redeem every situation – it is who He is. Ask God to fill each student with faith that He is who He says He is.  If He has said it, He will do it. He is worth their trust, attention, and lives.

1 Thessalonians 5:24
The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.

1 Corinthians 1:5-9
For in him you have been enriched in every way—with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge— God thus confirming our testimony about Christ among you. Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord

Names of God

Use the following statements and scriptures to declare who God is, over students and into their situations and circumstances.

For the lonely He is a friend and a family.

Psalm 68:5-6
Sing to God, sing in praise of his name, extol him who rides on the clouds; rejoice before him—his name is the Lord. A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families,he leads out the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.

Proverbs 17:17
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.

For the anxious He is caring and Peace.

1 Peter 5:6-7
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Psalm 94:18-19
When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your unfailing love, Lord, supported me.When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.

Philippians 4:4-8
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

For the hurting He is Comforter and Healer.

Psalm 10:14
But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider their grief and take it in hand. The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the fatherless.

Psalm 118:6-8 and Hebrews 13:5-7
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you;never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

Psalm 147:3
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

For the confused He is reason and order.

Isaiah 1:18
“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool.

1 Corinthians 14:33
for God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.

Galatians 5:10
I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. The one who is throwing you into confusion, whoever that may be, will have to pay the penalty.

Who I am in Christ

Use the resource on the last page to help guide you in declaring Truth over every student. It was originally written by Priscilla Shirer and tweaked by Kelsey Parham. It’s a very helpful tool.

In each Session

Waiting
As students and leaders wait for each session to begin ask God to stir anticipation – even if they can’t identify it. Ask God for each student to sense His presence and the possibility of transformation.

Romans 8:19
For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.

Worship
Ask God to mark each worship session with revelation of who He is and because of Him, who they are. Ask God to anoint and sanctify the worship team. Ask God for a fresh anointing upon the worship leader Alexander Pappas. Pray each song, invitation, instruction and testimony would be in step with the Spirit. Pray students engage with the reality of God, not distracted by hype, emotions or culture.

Psalm 27:13-14
I remain confident of this:I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Teaching
The speaker is Grant Partrick. Ask for the Holy Spirit to anoint him in the moment with a fresh word from God. Ask God to reveal His authority to say who we are – and that He alone has that authority. Ask God to expose other influences and uproot any lies students believe about who they are or how they “have to” live. Ask God to reveal sin in students’ lives and convict students of sin and righteousness. Ask God to bring many to repentance and saving faith in Jesus.

Acts 2:37-38
When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Response

Ask God to move in power among all who are present. Battle for the students as they make decisions to yield to or reject the prompting of God, using God given divine weapons, let’s tear down strongholds together for the sake of these students!

2 Corinthians 10:4
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

Ephesians 6:10-18
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

In Homes/Group Time

Ask God to prepare each home and space groups will meet, to fill it with His presence and protect students and leaders. Ask God to consecrate each space as holy and prepare each student to enter into His heart and His work as they arrive following sessions. Pray for the leaders, drivers and hosts who will all be shepherding students this weekend.

Ask they would serve like John the Baptist preparing the way for God.

Luke 1:17
And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”

Children of God

Read Romans 8:14-39. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to each student he/she can be a child of God. Ask God to demonstrate His heart as a Father and what it means for each student to be a son/daughter of God.

Walk by the Spirit

Read Galatians 5:16-26. Ask God to teach each student and leader this weekend how to put to death the deeds of the flesh and live by the Spirit. Pray for the transformation you sense is needed most among this generation with faith there will be abundant fruit!

Power and Authority in all who believe

Ask Jesus to reveal the strength and authority students have when they call on His name. Ask for humility so students see the grace and power that comes when they choose to submit to Jesus as LORD.

Luke 10:19-20
I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

Ask God to fill every student with faith for the impossible. For every situation culture, people, or satan has told them there is no hope, ask God to transform their minds and renew a steadfast spirit within them.

Matthew 17:20
He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

John 14:12
Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father

Ask God to testify clearly to each student the power He has to overcome every bit of darkness they encounter. Pray students leave this weekend with hope, faith, and peace that makes darkness flee and life spread!

John 1:5
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

Ask God to stir in the hearts of each student a desire to devote themselves to Him out of devotion whether in desire or out of discipline. Ask that each student find a place to engage in Christ honoring community to continue in discipleship and faith.

Hebrews 10:23-25
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
